P&S - I know you got contact - if you don't mind - inquire with Boom what he thinks about this product - got real gold in it mind ya - I consider it currency in South Dakota for sure, maybe Utah, maybe Wyoming as well - hell - maybe everywhere - cause it has 1/1000 of a "troy-ounce" 24 K gold in it stated. So assuming you think it has currency, as I do - lets define some terms shall we:

1. What is a "troy ounce" with respect to gold and silver.

2. What is 24 K gold?

Tis great to see you back online friend - and take it easy - don't over do it till you are back on your feet proper, but if you don't mind - pass that question onto the "Boomy" one - and here is a link with more details:

Hi Ken, to answer first your questions on PMs:

"A troy ounce is a unit of measure used for weighing precious metals that dates back to the Middle Ages. Originally used in Troyes, France, one troy ounce is equal to 31.1034768 grams, according to the U.K. Royal Mint. One standard ounce (also known as an avordupois ounce) is used to weigh other commodities such as sugar and grain. A standard ounce is slightly less than a troy ounce, at 28.35 grams. "

"Jewelry is typically 14-karat (58.3%) in the United States or 18-karat (75%) internationally, but other karat values can be found, all the way up to pure 24-karat (99.99%)."

Here is guidance, all about gold: https://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/11/best-bets-buying-gold.asp

The Kitco site is a good guide for PMs.

Yes, for me too Ken, I see gold as a great investment, especially now that it has risen 25% recently and stands around $2,500/oz.

I am back in the saddle and getting back to posting as usual but the timeline has shifted a bit, as per my last post on Saturday. All good here once again with the sun shining and a walk on the beach later this PM.

Go well dear friend and thank you for all reassurances about my lovely TBPers. :-)

Blessings

AP

Awesome P&S - one day maybe I'll tell you bout the time I got "banned" from the Kitco forum - it was like 20 years ago!

Still - they are happy for me to continue making purchases.

I just think the "gold script" with defined amount of 24K gold (1/1000) of a troy ounce in the script I got above for the "fun of it" - is really a hell of a good idea. I mean the value of said script is defined by its contents rather than some sort of "fiat promise" - and that is what I was curious mostly about what "ole-Boomy" thought.....in some states this could be considered legal tender - I think that is smart.

Warm Regards and good to hear you are feeling better....

Boomy hates gold Ken, no idea why, he seems wedded to fiat crap! LOL

Oh....that speaks to bias - so I rescind my request of "Boomy's" opinion!

(smile)

As you know, I am biased as well - I think it is a helluva good idea!
