Should Brits Trust Truss? – RISK is a Geopolitical Game – Energy; Who Pays? – Localisation Revisited – Sunak Exposed - Letter from Great Britain [09-10-22]
A bit of scatter-shot in this article. I suspect, like many, an awful confusion about our economic futures with an excess of variables to consider. I'd almost need another article to even comment with understanding. China is in some sort of paralysis created by zero covid. Russia has huge limitations in exploiting their own resources and is in the process of trashing a lot of materiel and troops in Ukraine in a logistics war that it can't possibly compete. No nation is prepared or willing to accept the sacrifices that were endured to support WW2. We can hope that the energy crisis can be resolved because it was self-induced; in the process of re-alignment the public will suffer again. Proper leadership would help but incompetence seems endemic as leaders defer to an excess of poor advisors.
BTW, from my viewpoint your Johnson's problems seem to stem from his becoming ill. In recovery he seemed a changed person. His confidence seemed to decline. But we shall see what Truss can do.
