There is a lot of conjecture in those links about Gaza. I'm inclined to believe a simple explanation that, yes, some were caught by surprise and that Hamas' hatred was the main driver. In a 2021 article (https://christianconcern.com/resource/is-islam-antisemitic/), Tim Dieppe wrote: "Antisemitism is so deep-rooted in Islamic teaching that it can’t be separated. We should not try to avoid the issue. People need to understand that antisemitism is inherent in Islamic teaching."

However, we are deeply in the first wave of the "Fog of War", to slightly misquote Clausewitz.

Thank you Greg as always on the button! LOL - it's a big mess by design - next stop WW3 being all part of the plan: https://alt-market.us/the-club-of-rome-how-climate-hysteria-is-being-used-to-create-global-governance/

Only part way through those links but I remember 1971 well, not just because we got married and bought a house but because shortly after things seemed to get unaffordable. House prices and food costs rocketed. Good for our house, but the weekly shop was quite difficult as we remember having to leave things we needed until the next week.

Edit: That alt-market article is good. I didn't realise that people like Clinton were pushing for a global power, a one world government, so long ago. I knew of "The Club of Rome" but knew little about it.

I am with you 100% Greg. Life-story, short-form: I bought my first house in Leigh-on-Mendip, Somerset in 1968, a semi for £3500. I sold in 1973 for £7,000 and bought a 4-bed cottage in Truddoxhill, 4 miles outside Frome in Somerset for £10,000. I sold for £22,000 in 1977 and bought a 3 bed cottage + 2 acres for £16,000 and started a smallholding in Westcombe (3 miles from Bruton where we are now) and brought up the kids (4) - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Westcombe,+Shepton+Mallet+BA4+6ER/@51.1517982,-2.5432484,11.71z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x48723001f6d42703:0xc23400aa2e8af592!8m2!3d51.1509!4d-2.4654029!16zL20vMDRyOTJ2?entry=ttu

Isn't inflation wonderful? Perhaps it might be the 9th wonder of the world after compound interest!

I sold in 1995 and went sailing - LOL- ending in Cape Town in 1999 at FBYC:

At ZAR120 for a steak supper, that looks fairly good living (at ZAR23 to £1!)

Blessings

PS - And here's our local restaurant (forgive me if I linked before):https://www.seaforthrestaurant.co.za/ check the menu!

The Seaforth Restaurant look great. I didn't think I remembered hearing about this near Bruton! The FBYC looks great as well although I'm a bit worried that it doesn't appear to have a diversity manager nor a climate change target!! (How refreshing :-)

Bridge Farm looks very convenient for Jon Thorners, which we used to visit once in a while - great meat, but rather more expensive than at FBYC!.

Glad you know the area Greg - we should share a pint before I leave! And yes, John Thorner gave us great meat in the 80s - half a pig, lots of good grass-fed beef but no lamb - we butchered our own young billy-goats - the males are useless in farms and probably everywhere else! Is it a theme of the Drones? (pun intended)! LOL

That would be great but it would be a bit of a long journey for me, sadly!

This entire thing in Israel is scripted puppet theatre . Israel has always controlled Hamas. Hamas is their ticket to finally rid themselves of the Palestinians forever and take over all of their territories. They have already stolen 95% of the territory the Palestinians controlled in 1950.
