Ain't it time to get the "gubment" out of folks business - I mean tonight where I reside - we got to set the clocks back an hour - for what I wonder - gubment in our business I reckon - eff that.

Enough is enough - and too much gubment means ole fellas get a chair to change the time in a clock endless, and then they fall and break their back and die - for what?

Daylight savings time my ass!

Ha Ha Ken - it's a classic example of the way laws just hang on indefinitely when the original reason is long forgotten - it becomes a habit:

"In the spring of 1916, during World War One, the German army turned the clocks forward as a way of conserving energy. Many (but not all) European governments followed suit shortly afterwards - including the UK. Within a few years of its introduction, many countries across the world adopted Daylight Saving Time."

And another one: "Income tax was announced in Britain by William Pitt the Younger in his budget of December 1798 and introduced in 1799, to pay for weapons and equipment in preparation for the Napoleonic Wars."

I say daylight savings time makes no sense - but where I reside - we fall back in the fall and get another hour - so fine - one more hour.

After that - eff the gubment P&S

cause war is a Racket.

Thank you for describing the shameful decline of my country.

I could add many more deprivations but perhaps the worst is the fact that we are being trained to accept a diminution of standards, expectations and personal values. We are, of course, well along the road to an inglorious transhuman future where a toaster will enjoy more status than humans.

Nevertheless, I still retain some confidence that, after we hit rockbottom, those that survive will be motivated enough to elevate humanity back up to our rightful, insightful and compassionate state.

Wishing you a lovely, healing week, AP.

Stay positive Zara - this too will pass but it might be a bumpy road! People with an alcohol problem often come to AA after hitting rockbottom and finally accept Step One:

"Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable. Step 2: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. Step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him." I guess the same applies to countries?

Blessings

Depressing but a sadly true reflection of some aspects of life in England.

I did know of the so called 'travellers' sites in Bristol but was unaware of the lives of the occupants - v sad and a very worrying comment on our society. It's worse than feudal.

I know of a couple of Brazilian families who are managing to make a good life here in the UK but how many more are like these Deliveroo slaves?

Meanwhile "Three schools in Scotland are officially recognising 'species dysphoria' in children who identify as wolves and other animals." So all is well north of Hadrian's wall!!!!!!!
