NATO has already lost. The A-holes running it won't admit it and would rather sacrifice more civilians to get sympathy. They have HAMAS mentality and so do the EU

So true SF - Will they ever learn? I think not until their world crashes.

Bismarck reportedly said, "Do whatever you wish, but do not go to war with Russia." The stupid hubristic twits of Leyen's ilk obviously didn't listen (incidentally, she has a major axe to grind, her great-grandfather having been a rich Estonian merchant who lost everything after the Russian revolution, or something like that). They thought they can take Russia apart through scheming.

Not quite. The Russkies are tough and are now positioned to give Europe a giant kick in the ass. Plus, they've had it with the West and want to settle scores once and for all.

Europe has nothing. That's nada, zilch, fucking rien. No resources, no manpower, no technological edge, no industry. Its clout on the international stage is proving to be what it is - mirage, a shiny shell over substance that's decaying if not non-existent. Europe has only one option, to carry on and hope that something happens. The alternative - defeat - would mean not only having to submit to whatever terms the Russians dictate, but more importantly, Europe would lose pretty much all of its influence on the international stage, if that's not the case already.

Frankly, what's happening is only fair. Europeans do fuck all - compared to others, yet live the lives of utmost luxury. It looks like that's about to change.

Thanks Paul, and I agree entirely with your analysis. I will be analysing the unlikely support from US in the next Part 2 on September 13. In the meantime something odd has happened in Ukraine:

Perhaps internal resistance is building for a coup in Ukraine?

I don't think grass-roots internal resistance has the potential to stage a coup. People simply don't have the means to organize themselves, to muster enough power to overthrow the rulers. Especially not in today's atomized society. It might have happened on a few occasions in the past, but the will of the people is probably manifested more in covert resistance, refusal to comply, slow disintegration. That is already happening in Ukraine, in fact has been for quite some time. Everybody and their sister who could has got the hell out of there. Those who stayed are doing their best to dodge the regime. Desertions are through the roof.

Europe's piece-of-shit elites would probably like to make their populations go to war with Russia, but that ain't happening anytime soon. Europeans are spoiled to the max and it would take quite a long period of hardship for things to turn around. During that time, there would be chaos and resistance. By the time Europe is kinda ready, if ever, and that includes materiel, Russia will have rolled over Ukraine and imposed its terms.

This is probably the most critical moment, as Europe's only chance is to provoke something in an attempt to draw the US into a full-fledged war. This is an existential conflict, for both Russia and Europe, where the latter has the shorter end of the stick.

However you look at it, Europe looks like a dead man walking.

They could have been the global center of sophisticated culture and peacemaking, and perhaps some state-of-the-art technology, instead they're belligerent fascists promoting a culture that can at best be described as putrid decadent manure.

Yes Paul, you are so right - time will tell I guess and thanks for your prescient thoughts.

Thank you, AP.

Needless to say and for what it’s worth, I am ashamed at the UK’s participation in this tragedy.

It seems that the only people who want peace are those too poor and powerless to achieve it.

Let’s hope that rational minds prevail, that the majority can wake up, put their bitterness, fears and prejudices aside, and focus on what will benefit humanity the most.

In the meantime, wishing you and yours a smooth-running week. xxx

Many thanks Zara - I share your sentiments but as you know, sadly hope is not a strategy. In all of history it's been the same story: the rich get richer and the poor 99% get no say in it. It's always about the money and this time is no different as Paul noted here.

Glad you had a good summer, now ours is coming and the sun is shining again - enjoy your week my dear - what will be, will be regardless of us. :-)

Best wishes
