But unlike the case of those prior invasion warnings of February 2022, the US administration stayed silent ahead of the dramatic Wagner events. After being named the nation’s most loved news brand in a poll by Savanta, GB News has gone from strength to strength.  The channel saw bumper ratings, beating off both Sky News and BBC. It goes without saying; Talk TV wasn’t even in the running.  GB News beat Sky News for 5.5 hours and beat the BBC's News channel for 7.25 hours. Of course, it also beat the puerile Talk TV-offering across the whole 24-hour period.

BUT Ofcom accused GB News of breaching its standards on more than one occasion regarding their idea of 'misinformation', aka telling the truth.  After 100's of hours of viewing, I now believe that GB News is as genuine as can be achieved within the straight jacket of Ofcom regulators. I will continue to investigate and report.

UKRAINE COUNTEROFFENSIVE – The Wagner Response:  Hat Tip, Robinson Ochoa, who is my good friend in Venezuela.  He looks at the SMO timeline:

• November, 2022 - Wagner complains about low artillery supply.

• March, 2023 - Wagner indicates that the artificially low supply of artillery is costing him the loss of soldiers, and blames the Russian ministry of defence. Note that it was Wagner who was succeeding in the war, while the Russian army was performing very poorly.   This is the reason why the Russian ministry of defence did not give him enough supplies, so that he would not make the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) look mediocre.

• April – May, 2023 Wagner gives an ultimatum to the Russian ministry of defence, stating that they are withdrawing from Bakhmut because of the thousands of deaths due to the artificial cut in supplies, and leaving the ground to Kadirov and the Russian army.

• May, 2023 Russian MoD had to send more supplies to Wagner and Wagner finally totally takes over Bakhmut.

• June, 2023 Wagner withdraws from the front line and prepares to recover from their losses, estimated at 2,000 Killed-in-Action (KIA).

• End June, 2023 Wagner indicates they peacefully leave for Rostov asking for the MoD chiefs, Shoigu and Gerasimenko, are to blame for his KIA.  Wagner indicates that it is not a coup d'etat, it is a purge of the corrupt Russian military elite.

• June 24 - Russian army helicopter shoots at the column heading to Rostov and Wagner responds by shooting down three Russian helicopters.  Putin, instead of handing over Shoigu and Gerasimov, viciously turns against Prigozhin.

If Putin didn’t hand over Shoigu, the morale of the Russian troops will be damaged.  If Prigozhin gets what he wants, the Russian armed forces would have become unstoppable, and Prigozhin could have become a presidential candidate. Prigozhin has shown that he loves his soldiers.  The Russian defence minister has shown that he loves power.

The priority for Wagner was the resignation of the leadership of the Russian Federation MoD which was achieved.  In exchange, Prigozhin went to Belarus. Thus we are left awaiting the response from the Americans and Europeans, but at least the Russian military (Prigozhin) have the courage to confront their rotten leaderships. Are the Americans and Europeans able to do likewise?  Do they have any options left?

Russia ended the so-called "march of justice" of Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Wagner PMC to Moscow.  In the morning it became known that the "Wagnerians" entered Rostov-on-Don and blocked the headquarters of the Southern Military District, as well as a number of key buildings of security agencies in the city centre, and then moved further north along the M-4.  During the movement of the "Wagner" PMC's convoy, the Russian Air Force overflew, after which Wagner troops began to shoot down the Russian aircraft. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation, calling the situation an armed insurgency and a stab in the back of Russian servicemen. The mutinous march ended 200 klicks from Moscow when, with mediation from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the Russian authorities and Prigozhin managed to reach a compromise, the details of which are not yet known.

The head of the Wagner PMC said that the terms of the agreement suited them, the march ended, and the soldiers returned to their field camps. According to some reports, the governor of the Tula region, Alexei Dyumin, also took part in the negotiations.

One of Prigozhin's demands was the resignation of Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and head of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.  Given that, according to the source, the mutiny was stopped on favourable terms for the head of the PMC.  There is reason to believe that the leadership of the Defence Ministry has been removed.

At the end of the day, a Presidential Spokesman stated that the criminal case against Prigozhin would be terminated, and he will be safe in Belarus.

The Russian case is clear, “We were forced to try to end the war that the West started in 2014 by force of arms. The Russian SMO in Ukraine will only end on Russia’s terms, and only when Moscow evaluates all its objectives have been met. Anything else is wishful thinking.  The whole encounter is summarised in Putin’s concise, chilling evaluation of where we now stand on the chessboard.
